What "2 devices" means in practice
It's a limit on simultaneous streams, not on installations. Put your credentials on the living room Firestick, the bedroom Smart TV, two phones, a tablet and a laptop — all six will work. Any two can play at the same moment. The seventh press of play simply waits until someone stops.

Bandwidth for two streams
Budget about 25 Mbps per 4K stream and 10 Mbps per HD stream. Two 4K streams want roughly 50 Mbps of headroom on top of everything else in the house. On a 100 Mbps line that's comfortable; on 50 Mbps, run one in HD.
Wi-Fi placement matters more than raw speed. A Firestick two rooms away on 2.4GHz will buffer regardless of your plan. Wire the main TV with Ethernet where you can, and keep the second device on 5GHz.

The credentials work from anywhere, so splitting with family in another city is technically possible. We don't advise it — simultaneous connections from widely separated locations can trip automated security checks, and the result is interrupted playback for both of you, usually at the worst moment.
